Tuesday, February 12th, 7pm at the Dillon DNRC conference room. 860 N Montana.
Come hear about the work happening in southwest Montana to remove pine, juniper and fir trees that have been moving into sagebrush range and river banks over the last several decades, and why.
On a large scale, conifer expansion (juniper and Douglas fir) into sagebrush habitats and river corridors is a growing concern across the west. Join us to hear Sean Claffey with the Southwest Montana Sagebrush Partnership and Joe Sampson, BLM fuels specialist to learn why this is a problem, what work has been done across the Beaverhead Watershed to help address it, and future plans for projects.
